Musical encounter Guitar and Sarangi

This is a traditional music instrument called Sarangi... Very popular in Nepal. I was trying to accompany with my guitar... May be I need to sit with in his next visit. They are called GANDHARBA's who go around and sing for their livelihood. He is regular visitor in my place, but was absent for nearly four months.

I give a little reward and a piece of wearable whenever he comes. It was indeed a pleasure meeting him whenever he comes....! Until next time with Sumsher Gandharba...my Sarangi companion..!

Traditional music of Nepal played and preserved by Gandharvas...a lifestyle so very endowed and rich..we ought to support the tribe to preserve..Samsher Gandharba appears every three months and plays a small peice for a small reward. I urge every one to support a culture from their ends before it vanishes ....!!!

Road eats the building

Road expansion and retrofitting.... I simply cross my fingers when I see many other building in Kathmandu where proper methods are not followed ... where the owners are simply ignorant.... or they lack the drive and funds to manage the remains of their precious possessions. An example of renovation and reconstruction with proper assessment on retrofitting design.... where we are involved.

Allow me to post a DIRE PICTURE of one building at DIllibazar as I happen to pass through....  here the picture speaks...this reminds me of our venerability on the road...when the DISASTER STRIKES...! May god bless we all unfortunate pedestrians in Kathmandu, who may pass through this section of the road.

The height of ignorance on retrofit construction, I wonder if the structural systems can be treated as scafolds... by putting them wherever one wishes... Good save the building and people who shall eventually reside there.

LIFE IN IT'S COCOON

Beauty of the beast I may have said many a times
May be a sweat living thing I would have wondered
I captured IN FRAMES , Mesmerized I must have been
Full of life it was in its glory days I imagined

Withers and disintegrates before my eyes
And dries in its cocoon to my dismay
How sad I would have been If I had not known
It would relive its life yet again

IN THE HEAVENLY ABODE
I smile yet again with a sheer JOY
For a small intruder in our soil one might surmise
Gets back to it's HEAVENLY ABODE

Finally IN THE HEAVENLY ABODE
let it depart to its heavenly abode

Malshree Dhoon

This a typical music played during the festival of Dashain.... known as Mangal Dhun or more precisely Malashree Dhun.

Dashain is the biggest festival of Nepal celebrated through out the country in spite diverse ethnicity of the country. This festival binds all the Nepalese culture into one large group with Malshree Dhun... it can be heard during the festival in all FMs and television channels...!

I have tried to compose this piece in acoustic guitar... the expressions in the animations are to depict the power of deities , who are omnipresent, but during the festivity they become more obvious and profound... with the universal music of Malshree.... whose origin is not yet very clear... !!!!!

TREE feels THREAT and REACT

This is a little story of a tree, who really fought to survive. My father puts the story to everyone and I found it as an opportunity to put it in YouTube.
You would not believe this. This is a true story of a Guava tree which has been there in our little garden for the last so many years. My father was having a different opinion about this tree since last four years as it started growing sick with a kind of tiny blackish tar like insects everywhere in its leaves. He was not sure if he could retain it for long and he almost decided to chop it down and plant a new one.
But this morning Oct 04 2014 and in fact this season everything STARTED to CHANGE slowly it seems . Suddenly the leaves and entire tree got insects free it seems it got healthy once more. And this season again it started producing very nice Guava as in its early days.
This video explains the story of this tree. This particular Guava in the picture measures around 150 grams and it has no stains of sickness and the tar like insects in its leaves are no more there this seasons.
My father a product of Startchclyde University, Scotland, United Kingdom, firmly believes that the trees also have EYES AND EARS. It also has the FEELING, it feels the PAIN, gets ANNOYED and gets HAPPY AND SAD too. He thinks the Guava tree must have been very sad as he put this nasty remark of chopping it down early this season, and now to everyone’s surprise the tree really resisted the disease and fought back to survive to its GLORY DAYS.

For all the local viewers the longer version in Nepali language
